Take the chance to become part
of a Forever Lasting Sisterhood...
Kappa Phi Lambda's Fifth Annual Freedom Run
What is this event about?
Since our establishment on November 12, 2004, Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. at the State University of New York at Albany, we have worked steadfastly to raise awareness and funds for Polaris Project, a nonprofit anti-human trafficking organization with programs worldwide, by holding workshops and having speaker presentations. We have also worked in collaboration with the Human Trafficking Awareness Council in helping to bring government justice and awareness to human trafficking crimes and victims. In addition, we have created an annual Freedom Run fundraising event which includes carnival style games and raffle prizes with all the proceeds going to our philanthropy. This event aims to bring awareness to the Albany community about human trafficking and in doing so; we hope to inspire people to become empowered to stand with us in the fight against modern day slavery.
When will this event take place?
April 20, 2014 at the SEFCU Bubble on the SUNY ALbany campus. The event will be from 2pm -5pm with the speaker presentation scheduled for 3pm.
How can I help?
If you are part of a student organization on the SUNY Albany campus, consider volunteering at our event! We will need help setting up games and organizing the event. Also, it would be great if we could have other organizations perform/stroll to make this event truly enjoyable while bringing awareness to such a serious issue in society today! Please fill out the form on the left if you would like to volunteer and we will send you more information!
