What is Rush?
Rush is a period designed for you to come and learn about our Sorority as well as our Sisters. It is open to any and every one and is a time for us to get to know you as well. Rushing does not mean committing, so don't ever feel like you are to hold to any kind of obligations. Just come out and enjoy some free events with the Sisters in a comfortable and relaxed environment. The more rush events you attend, the better we are able to get to know you. In order to qualify for a bid, an invitation to partake in our intake process, you must attend one GIM [General Interest Meeting], two social events of your choice, and Greek Convocation. It's very important for you to ask us any questions about our sorority or address any concerns you may have during this time. All events are hosted by us and are FREE of charge to you. So Come on out!
What is the Intake Process?
The Intake Process is the journey you take into becoming a sister. During this time, you will learn about Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, the Sisters, your line sisters who will walk this journey with you, and most importantly, yourself. It is a process designed to be a challenge for you to discover what you are capable of. The Sisters of the Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, strictly believe in a positive intake process and do not tolerate hazing.
Do I have to be Asian?
NO! Absolutely not. Kappa Phi Lambda is an Asian interest sorority, not Asian exclusive. It is not made strictly for Asians. We welcome sisters of all ethnic backgrounds because cultural diversity is strongly valued within our sorority.
Why Kappa Phi Lambda?
The bond that the Sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda have found is ETERNAL and we are always there to lend a helping hand to each other. In addition to working to promoting Pan-Asian culture and providing service for our community, we provide unlimited opportunities to network and prepare for your future. You will develop and improve different skills and with our commitment to community service, philanthropic events, various cultural events, as well as social mixers and parties that we host, you will not only meet many new people, you will also make your college career a well-rounded and memorable one. We recognize that the accepting of a bid is a serious decision and that is why we strongly encourage all potential rushes to attend events held by other organizations so that they can make a well informed decision themselves.
